Welcome to Yoga Culture’s Yoga & Writing! Here, we look at the intersection of yoga and writing practices and explore new ideas together. Anyone is welcome. Thanks for joining us.
My work at the crossroads of yoga and writing has led to some interesting collaborations recently. Two of which are a workshop coming up in a couple weeks that I wanted to share with you here (below) and an upcoming article in the International Council of Teachers of English for their fall newsletter about the origins of this project in my past high school English classrooms.
In future, I’ll have more open workshops that anybody can attend. Feel free to let me know what you’re looking for. I’m always open to new collaborations as well, so likewise please reach out if you’re interested in something we could work on together.
Workshop: Yoga for Creativity
I wanted to briefly share that I’ll be giving an online workshop in a couple weeks called Yoga for Creativity with Quill & Cup, an international women’s writing group.
Yoga for Creativity will help you feel empowered to access your own creativity within you. A frame of neuroscience and definitions will allow us to enter into a growth mindset of possibilities. Through movement and positions linked with creativity in the traditional practice of yoga as well as a fun, modern approach to ‘creativity in constraint’ we will play with ways to prompt your writing brain.
We’ll investigate these questions:
How is movement linked to creativity?
Is creativity really within all of us?
What gets in the way of accessing our creativity?
How can we cultivate our creativity?
Can we use our bodies to consider new ways to move our minds?

Your upcoming workshop, "Yoga for Creativity," sounds like a fantastic opportunity to explore the intersection of mindfulness, movement, and writing. It's wonderful to see how you're leveraging both ancient practices and modern approaches to inspire creative thinking. Keep up the great work. 🌟🧘♀️📝
